Handling Customer Cards During Data Deletion

Apart from the customer data, you must also define how linked loyalty cards are handled during PII deletion. This behaviour is controlled by the configuration parameter CONF_PII_DELETION_CARD_UNLINK_STATE.

By default, when a customer profile is deleted, the linked card is delinked, and its status changes to Not Issued. You can change this behaviour by setting the configuration to DELETED, which automatically marks the card as DELETED during PII deletion.

The card status remains as NOT_ISSUED:

  • if an invalid value is set or
  • if the configuration is set to DELETED but the DELETED status label is not available in your organization.

Set this configuration before submitting the PII deletion request.

To enable this configuration, create a JIRA ticket for the Product Support team.
